Portable Appliance Testing company based in the Dibden Purlieu, Hythe, Waterside area of Southampton, covering Hampshire, Dorset, Surrey, West Sussex, Berkshire, Wiltshire and the Isle of Wight.

Simply PAT uses some of the most advanced PAT testers to date, enabling us to carry out a full range of tests to a wide range of equipment including 110v and three phase equipment.

As well as the very latest Megger pat420 we use for our testing we also carry battery powered Seward pat testers so we can even test where there is no mains supply or hard to reach areas.

As well as a thorough visual inspection of items, checking for damages to flex, plugs and casings, etc we will were applicable carry out the following tests.

Types of tests Simply PAT can perform

Earth continuity & bond test
Earth continuity and bond testing are both used to confirm the existence and integrity of the appliance earth conductor.

Insulation test
This is used to confirm the integrity of the appliances insulation. We can perform both a standard 500v test and now also a 250v test to enable testing of items like anti-surge extension leads which would otherwise fail due to their design.

Earth Leakage test
This test can check for any current flowing to earth and to ensure any leakage current is within safe limits.

Load/operation test
Where possible we will carry out an operation test to ensure the tested item is working correctly!

RCD test
We are able to fully test 30MA portable RCD devices, as well as a basic manual check of the test button we will fully check that the RCD devices are tripping within its stated time limit.

Lead test
Earth bond, insulation, live & neutral Continuity and Polarity.

Microwave oven leakage
Using a specialist microwave leakage monitor. we will test for any excessive radiation leakage. We will also check the operation of the door interlocks.

There will be occasions where equipment cannot be disconnected from the power supply i.e. servers, and this will comply with the IEE regulations by having a formal visual inspection only.
Passed items will be clearly labelled passed with a unique ID number. Any items that fail the test, that we are unable to repair will labelled with a red fail label and disconnected from the supply where possible and the nominated contact notified.

All testing above will help you comply with latest electrical regulations and all fully included in our price!
